Kandy is a major town located in central Sri Lanka. It is famous for the Tooth Relic Temple and Perendeniya Botanical Garden.
We arrived in Kandy from Dambulla by a bus. We reached at around 12 noon. We checked into a hotel booked on the spot through booking.com
We freshened up and went to the
Tooth Temple on road. It was a 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The Tooth Temple is a very sacred temple for Buddhists, which is believed to house an ancient tooth relic of Lord Buddha. This is housed inside the royal palace and the lake complex. There is an entry ticket for foreign tourists.

We did not visit Perendeniya Botanical Garden, since it was in the outskirts, and we strolled around the central railway station area. There were lot of food joints and bakeries in Kandy! We bought packets of Plum cakes and fruits cakes (by kilos!), and savored them in the evening.
We started for Nuwara Eliya from Kandy, by road. There is a train connectivity too, which is very scenic and picturesque, but since we did not book train tickets in advance, we proceeded by bus. We reached Nuwara Eliya by around 12Noon. Nuwara Eliya is a beautiful hill station with very beautiful weather! Nestled amidst Tea Gardens, this is a must visit stop for any itinerary of Sri Lanka!
We again checked into hotel, freshened up and started for the day. Listing the places to visit in the order we visited them:

Lover's Leap Tea Gardens: Nuwara Eliya is known for it's lush green cover of Tea Plantations.

Gregory Lake: This is a beautiful lake in Nuwara Eliya. Boating is also done by most tourists. It was raining when we visited and couldn't do boating, but the lake after the rain was prettier!

Seethai Amman Temple: This is Ashok Vatika or the place where Goddess Seetha was imprisoned and kept by Ravana. This is also the place where Hanuman met Sita and gave her Rama's ring.

Nuwara Eliya Post Office: This is apparently the oldest post office in Sri Lanka. This is very near to the post office and central market of Nuwara Eliya. This is a beautiful building built in British Tudor style.

Central Market: We roamed around the market, had a nice dinner of Sri Lankan rice and curry and called it a night! There was a Sri Lankan "Bojun Hala", where lots of Sri Lankan delicacies were sold! We tried a lot of them.
